#ONGreenbelt TWITTER CHAT OFFICIAL RULES
The Twitter Party (the “Chat”) and all Sweepstakes surrounding the Party is sponsored by the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation (“Sponsor”). The Chat is governed by these official rules (“Official Rules”). By participating in the Chat, each entrant agrees to abide by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements, and understands that the results of the Chat, as determined by Sponsor and its agents, are final in all respects.
Eligibility: The Contest is only open to legal residents of Canada (excluding the province of Québec), who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence at the time of entry. Employees of Sponsor, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies and their family/household members (defined as parents, spouse, children, siblings, grandparents) are not eligible to enter. Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations. No purchase necessary.
How to Enter the Twitter Chat Sweepstakes: To enter, participate in the Twitter Chat held on http://www.twitter.com on Wednesday, September 24, 2021 from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm EDT. Entrant must have a valid, free Twitter account (http://www.twitter.com). Entrant must also tweet at least once during the Chat using the hashtag #ONGreenbelt. During the Chat, an employee or representative acting on behalf of Sponsor will randomly select winners from all of those participants who tweeted the hashtag #ONGreenbelt during the Chat between 8:00 pm EDT and 9:00pm EDT on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Winners will be randomly selected through numerical drawings from http://www.random.org.
Twitter Chat Sweepstakes Winner Selection: Winners will be selected between 8:00 pm and 9:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, and will be selected randomly from those who tweet using the hashtag #ONGreenbelt. Each entrant is responsible for monitoring his/her Twitter account for prize notification and receipt or other communications related to this Sweepstakes. In the event that an original prize winner does not meet Official Rules or eligibility requirements, or he/she forfeits the prize, Sponsor will award prize to an alternate entrant. Process will continue until prize is awarded. If a potential winner fails to comply with these official rules, that potential winner will be disqualified. Only one prize will be awarded per person or per Twitter ID/account.
Sweepstakes Conditions: Sponsor has no obligation to advise an entrant of an incomplete or otherwise non-compliant entry. Sponsor is not responsible for any misdirected, lost, late, invalid, unintelligible, incomplete, garbled, delayed entries, undeliverable Twitter updates, technical problems, malfunctions of computers, servers, phone lines, lost connections, or any other system failures. Proof of submission of an entry will not be deemed proof of receipt. Receipt of entries will not be acknowledged nor will proof of submission of an entry form be deemed proof of receipt. In the event of a dispute as to any entry, the authorized account holder of the Twitter account used to enter will be deemed to be the entrant. A potential winner may be requested to provide Sponsor with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the Twitter ID associated with the winning entry. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entry that, in the sole opinion of the sponsor, refers, depicts or in any way reflects negatively upon the sponsor, the promotion or any other person or entity. By participating, entrants and winner(s) agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, and its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotions agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors, from any and all liability, for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including without limitation, property damage, personal injury and/or death which may occur in connection with, preparation for, travel to, or participation in Sweepstakes, or possession, acceptance and/or use or misuse of prize or participation in any Sweepstakes-related activity and for any claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery.
Prizes and Odds of Winning: Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the promotion period.
Five (5) prizes will be given away during the Chat, with a top value of $200.00 CDN. All prizes are non-transferable. There may be no cash or other substitutions of prizes by winner. However, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute similar prizes of equal or greater value in the event the above prize is unavailable for any reason. All winners have 30 days from the date of the Chat to submit their mailing information to Sponsor. If winner fails to submit proper mailing information, winner then forfeits prize and Sponsor will draw again and award that prize to another winner. Terms and conditions may apply. Individual, parent or legal guardian of winner is solely responsible for all applicable federal, provincial, and local taxes with respect to entire prize.
Miscellaneous: All entries become the sole property of Sponsor and none will be acknowledged or returned. If for any reason the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, human error, acts of God, acts of war, natural disasters, weather or acts of terrorism or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. The Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, any combination thereof, or otherwise, including any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Sweepstakes. Sponsor may prohibit an entrant from participating in the Sweepstakes or winning a prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines that said entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair playing practices (including the use of automated quick entry programs) or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrants or Sponsor’s representatives.
Publicity Release: By participating, each entrant grants Sponsor permission to use his/her name, likeness or comments for publicity purposes without payment of additional consideration, except where prohibited by law.
