Did you know that strokes are the Number 3 killer among all americans?
May is American Stroke Awareness Month. Join us Thursday, May 19th at 8:30pm ET for a discussion about strokes and stroke risk factors!
We will be joined by Dr. Rani Whitfield, AKA Tha Hip Hop Doc, a family practitioner from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and an American Heart Association/American Stroke Association volunteer, as well as stroke survivor Michele Standifer. They will be available to answer your questions and talk about your experiences with stroke. This will be an open floor conversation where we will be discussing ways to maintain ideal health, addressing stroke risk factors and providing you with tools to keep you on track! We will be giving away prizes including recipe books and other goodies!
In addition to getting facts and answers at the party, you can learn about the state of your heart and what you can do to live a better life by taking the My Life Check Assessment. My Life Check was designed by the American Heart Association with the goal of improving health through education. Try it out and you’ll see that any person can make changes to improve their lives — the steps are not expensive to take and even modest improvements to your health can make a big difference!
