If you answered yes to any of these questions, then join us for a special twitter chat to discuss career in healthcare and to learn more about a scholarship set up by the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement and Macy’s – the Go Red™ Multicultural Scholarship Fund. The #GoRedScholarship Healthcare Career Chat will be held November 3rd from 1-2pm EST and those who register (see form below) and attend the chat will be entered to win a $50 Macy’s Gift Card!

During the Twitter chat, you’ll hear from AHA experts and volunteers to discuss their experiences in the healthcare field as well as tips on achieving a career in healthcare: from financing, scholarship help, the need for ethnic diversity in healthcare. You’ll also learn more about the Go Red Multicultural Scholarship Fund and the Go Red Movement – an initiative created to help fight the #1 killer on women: heart disease.

There’s an increasing demand for healthcare workers, but still the number of multicultural women working in U.S. hospitals is low. At the same time, many ethnic groups — including African-Americans and Hispanics — are disproportionately affected by cardiovascular disease and they confront many barriers to care not experienced by their Caucasian counterparts.

The Scholarship Fund will award 16 scholarships of $2,500 each ($40,000 total) to qualifying applicants. Deadline for applications is November 30, 2011. For more information visit the Go Red Multicultural Scholarship Fund Page.
