Do you ever find yourself listening to music with your kids one minute, and then racing to turn down the volume before the next word — a profanity — is sung?

That’s what happened to Vikas Vanjani, who was listening to music in the car with his three kids when he kept having to turn down the volume on songs they all wanted to hear due to the inappropriate lyrics.

Now he’s the founder and CEO of musicBleeper - a free, one-of-a-kind app that allows users to control which words they feel are unsafe or inappropriate on their iOS device playlists.

Come meet @musicBleeperApp, learn about the app and enter to win prizes at the #musicBleeper Twitter Party to be held Thursday, October 2nd at 8pm ET! In addition to learning more about this awesome, free app, they’ll be giving away three $25 iTunes gift cards, as well as a Grand Prize iPod Nano! (Open to residents of both the U.S. & Canada).

To enter, just fill out the RSVP form below, join the chat & download the app!

We’ll also be sharing tips about how parents can better navigate the tricky world of online entertainment, as well as discussing what parents can do to better monitor their children’s use of mobile devices. Want an extra chance to win an iTunes gift card? Just download the app & then RT this to enter! (RT contest also open to residents of both the U.S. & Canada. Click here for official rules).

MusicBleeper3Why musicBleeper? musicBleeper is the only app that can be tailored to an individual’s personal taste. Users can choose from among 91 words in PG-13, R and Religious categories to customize the words they want to skip or silence based on their children’s ages, religious affiliations, or family values.

Once the app is downloaded to an iOS device and parameters are set, the app immediately starts scanning and scrubbing the songs. Users can select either “skip” or “silence” to remove the words from songs on the device. The ability to manage the app is password protected, so parents can identify the words they want eliminated, without children having access to change them.

Try out musicBleeper now! Download this FREE app directly from iTunes!
